I always liked Linkin Park's brand of emo-metal, giving voice to the despair that some young people feel, where no one understands them. Of course, they're just like everyone else, in that everyone feels that way at a particular age. Hopefully they outgrow it before they explode and hurt other people around them.
This song is interesting for its use of a Japanese flute and drum as the backing sample, and I like the heavy drum (best experienced with a subwoofer). The video, though unrelated, is an interesting example of computer animation. (I have never played Final Fantasy in any guise, but the images are beautiful.)
Linkin Park, "Nobody's Listening"
About Me
- Marvin the Martian
- I am an alien here on this little planet. I've been sent to learn about life here, to observe people and things around me, and to become a better entity by applying the lessons that I learn here. I've chosen the name "Marvin the Martian" because he is familiar to many, and the Martian mindset isn't expected to be similar to a human's. Thank you for stopping by to read this little blog. I hope you'll come back.

At a particular age, hek, I feel like nobodies listening now, great video, like you I've never been a FF player although I have always been amazed at the graphics of this game, usually a step ahead of the others.
That isn't one of my favorite Linkin Park songs for sure.
But I had to laugh at the line "I have my rhymes but I hate everyone else's more"
Marv: thanks for this post :D i love this song, but my favorite linkin park song has to 'my december' its kindof a download-only thing.. dint find it on any CD of theirs, but its amazing, since a) december is my favorite month and the month i was born in, b) its such a mellow song c) i LOVE when the emphasis is on chester's voice..
the heavier stuff i like include papercut (LOVE IT), Faint, breaking the habbit, and from the inside to name a few..
Lara: I don't know... after awhile LP's stuff sounds a lot the same to me, but this one really stands out, mainly because of the heavy drum and the skipped beat every third measure.
Dima: I listened to "My December" - it was very mellow for LP, you're right! Chester's voice is beautiful... but it's more distinctive when he's screaming. ;-) I don't know how he does that and still keeps his voice. I like "Crawling" the best, I think, of their other stuff. I never heard the album they did with... Jay-Z? Some rap thing. Debuted and flopped after a week of strong sales.
oh I LOVE Linkin Park, they are AWESOME!!!
Never heard this song before, it's really good. But I think if they had repaced the word "hurt" with "anger", it'd be a much more powerful song. IMO anyway
either way, it's a good song.
Tink: I'm glad you like it! I sure do.
