Pictures from the past few weeks

This is a "sundog" on a chilly morning in Chicago. The sun is on the left. The sundog is on the right, a bright, multicolored smudge in the sky. It is caused by the sunlight refracting off of ice crystals in the atmosphere, about 22 degrees to the right or the left of the sun.

Guess whose flight does NOT have a gate assigned? Out of all the flights? That's right. Mine.

Pretty skies.

More pretty skies.

I love clouds. I have a whole book of clouds and their pattern-names. I just don't have it with me to tell you what this is.

Birds.

Sunset.

My darling wife's friend Kimmy. She does art glass. This is her booth at a local art fair. She sold some, but not much. It's a lousy economy. Nobody buys art when they're poor.

Our backyard.

Our front yard.

Is that a faerie I spied sitting on the stump in the backyard? You can't sneak faeries past me! I love the front screen door design; very art deco. Yeah, I saw boat; very clever. I really love the glass float acting as the back tail light. And I'm really jealous of the circular driveway. Now I'm going to have to put pics of my abode up, so we can compare.

Yes, my darling wife loves faeries. They're fun. We got them at Big Lots, I think.

The pretty screen door and the circular drive belong to my neighbor across the street. The boat is in our yard, facing toward our own house, since we're doing our yard for OUR pleasure, not the neighbors'. ;-)
